Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Presales Engineer based in Riyadh, المملكة العربية السعودية. The Presales Engineer will be tasked with providing technical support and expertise to clients, analyzing their requirements, and crafting tailored solutions. Key responsibilities include assisting sales teams during the pre-sales phase, explaining technical details of products or services, and ensuring successful integration of solutions. The candidate will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external clients to drive successful project delivery.

Job Summary

The Lighting Pre-Sales Engineer supports the sales team by providing technical lighting solutions that meet client, consultant, and project requirements. The role focuses on lighting design support, product selection, technical submittals, and tender documentation to secure projects successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the sales team with technical expertise in lighting systems and solutions

• Study project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and lighting schedules

• Prepare lighting designs, layouts, and calculations using software such as Dialux / Relux

• Select appropriate luminaires based on project requirements, aesthetics, and budget

• Prepare technical submittals, datasheets, compliance sheets, and mock-up proposals

• Respond to technical queries, RFIs, and consultant clarifications during tender stage

• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for technical data and approvals

• Conduct lighting presentations and technical meetings with clients, architects, and consultants

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, IES, IEC, CIBSE, and local authority standards

• Assist in cost estimation and value engineering without compromising design intent

• Support project handover to execution and site teams after award

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Lighting Design

• Minimum experience in lighting pre-sales or lighting design

• Strong understanding of architectural, commercial, landscape, and façade lighting

• Ability to read architectural and electrical drawings

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Dialux / Relux and AutoCAD

• Good knowledge of LED technologies, drivers, optics, and control systems (DALI, 0-10V, DMX)

• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills

• Experience with lighting control systems and smart lighting

• Knowledge of Saudi / GCC standards and approval processes

• Experience in value engineering and alternative proposals

• Coordination experience with architects, interior designers, and consultants
