Summary

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Microbiology in accordance with the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Organization policies and procedures in المملكة العربية السعودية.

Education / Qualification Required
  1. Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
  2. Post‑qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, أستراليا or New Zealand
      • USA: The American Board of Microbiology (ABM)
      • كندا: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC – Microbiology)
      • UK and أيرلندا: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Microbiology
      • أستراليا and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College – Microbiology (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post‑Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years after board/equivalent certification in USA, كندا, أيرلندا, UK, أستراليا, New Zealand and فرنسا (DES).
  • Minimum 5 years after board/equivalent certification in إسبانيا, ألمانيا, إيطاليا, البرتغال, بلجيكا, الدنمارك, السويد, سويسرا, النرويج, النمسا, هولندا, اليونان and فرنسا (DIS).
License
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in الدولة of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • To provide diagnostic and consultative services to physicians and patients in accordance with privileges granted, standards and guidelines for maintaining accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission international Accreditation (JCIA) and National Guard Laboratory Standards.
  • To participate in educational programs for staff, medical technology students, interns, residents and to participate in continuing education for laboratory staff and for staff physicians.
  • Serves on Hospital and Departmental committees as directed.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of new techniques and services.
  • Actively participates in the quality improvement program.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
