Summary

Responsible for the physical, emotional, and social health of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults from birth to 21 years.

Education and Qualifications Required
  • Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
  • Post-qualification certification from one of the following sources:
    • North America, Western Europe, أستراليا, or نيوزيلندا
    • USA: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
    • كندا: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
    • UK and أيرلندا: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
    • أستراليا and نيوزيلندا: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
    • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post-Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, كندا, أيرلندا, UK, أستراليا, نيوزيلندا, and فرنسا (DES)
  • Minimum five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in إسبانيا, ألمانيا, إيطاليا, البرتغال, بلجيكا, الدنمارك, السويد, سويسرا, النرويج, النمسا, هولندا, اليونان, and فرنسا (DIS)
License
  • Current and in good standing medical license to practice in the الدولة of residence
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform professional duties of a sub-specialist in accordance with the delineation of scope of care and privileges as recommended by the Chief of Department and approved by the Credentialing Committee
  • Perform duties in the outpatient clinic
  • Provide care to patients in the wards
  • Perform procedures according to privileges
  • Provide consultation services to inpatient and outpatient services in area of expertise
  • Share in on-call duties as per duty schedule
  • Supervise work of assistant and/or associate consultants, support professional development of junior physicians and interns, and provide evaluation of their work at the request of the Chief of Service
  • Ensure accurate medical documentation and charting and supervise documentation of the rest of the team
  • Work closely with colleagues
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and patients
  • Act as a member of the team and share administrative responsibilities
  • Undertake administrative duties when needed related to patient care under direction of the division head
  • Provide patient and family education according to patient status and needs
