Description

The opportunity: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic GIS I&C Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of high voltage GIS systems worldwide, supporting switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired, and faults eliminated. The supervisor represents PG in dealings with the client at installation sites, adheres to project deadlines, and balances cost and performance. You will embody Hitachi Energy’s QA philosophy and carry out installation and commissioning work in proper technical order.

• Carrying out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensuring compliance with installation requirements and safety instructions, including accident prevention measures and guidelines for work on live system components.
• Red-marking drawings/documents with changes or modifications that became necessary during installation.
• Advising the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordinating the workforce to meet the schedule.
• Cooperating with the PG Project Manager to establish the status of completed and non-completed work.
• Inspecting arriving material for completeness and potential damage and coordinating material handling with sub-suppliers’ Material Control within their procedures.
• Issuing non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within the PG scope of supply in cooperation with the PG Project Manager.
• Supervising final installation and commissioning tests and PG installation completion documentation.
• Supervising and coordinating loop check activities and participating in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Ensuring competence in the execution of tasks and carrying out any other duties assigned by management to fulfill job requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience with GIS is preferred.
• Previous experience with SF6 gas handling and PGHV transmission & sub-transmission GIS product knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to use MS Project professionally.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
