Technical Infrastructure Lead – Banking Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Lead to design, deliver, and manage enterprise infrastructure within a regulated banking environment. The role will lead infrastructure architecture, High-Level Design (HLD), platform delivery, and operational resilience across hybrid environments while ensuring security, compliance, and high availability. You will collaborate closely with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, application teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable banking systems. Experience Requirements 15+ years of IT infrastructure experience 7+ years in Technical Lead / Infrastructure Architecture roles Mandatory Banking or Financial Services experience Experience working in highly regulated environments Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Architecture Own and review High-Level Design (HLD) documentation. Define enterprise infrastructure standards and reference architectures for on-premise and hybrid environments. Architect IBM Cloud Pak platforms ensuring scalability and resilience. Lead capacity planning, performance optimization, and infrastructure lifecycle management. Infrastructure Engineering Lead deployment and lifecycle management of compute, virtualization, storage, and networking platforms. Manage virtualization environments (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V). Oversee networking including routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, load balancing, DNS/DHCP. Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks. Database Platforms Provide oversight for enterprise databases including: PostgreSQL Oracle Microsoft SQL Server Responsibilities include: HA/DR solutions (Oracle RAC, SQL Server Always On, PostgreSQL Streaming Replication) Performance tuning, backup strategies, patching, and security compliance. Monitoring & Resilience Implement monitoring frameworks using Dynatrace and SolarWinds. Define SLIs, SLOs, alerting, dashboards, and AIOps practices. Design and validate backup, disaster recovery, and resilience testing aligned with RTO/RPO objectives. Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with banking regulations and standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS). Support regulatory audits, risk registers, and remediation plans. Enforce ITIL processes including Change, Incident, Problem, Release Management, and CMDB governance. Leadership Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary infrastructure team. Work closely with enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and business stakeholders. Deliver executive-level reporting, infrastructure roadmaps, and risk assessments. Technical Skills Infrastructure & Virtualization VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter Microsoft Hyper-V Hybrid infrastructure environments Networking Layer 2/3 networking, BGP, OSPF Firewalls, segmentation, VPNs Load balancing, DNS/DHCP Platform Engineering IBM Cloud Pak OpenShift (preferred) Databases PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server HA/DR architecture and performance tuning Storage & Backup SAN / NAS architectures Replication, snapshots, enterprise backup solutions Long-term archival (tape/cloud) Monitoring Dynatrace SolarWinds APM / NPM observability tools Automation Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell CI/CD integration for infrastructure Preferred Kubernetes / OpenShift experience Hybrid cloud exposure (AWS / Azure) AIOps or log analytics (Splunk / ELK) Knowledge of Zero Trust, PAM, and secrets management
