The Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for leading and managing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities across multiple sites and projects within the petrochemical sector. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with Saudi regulations, international standards, and الشركة HSE policies, while driving a strong safety culture and mentoring safety teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and supervise safety teams across multiple sites and projects.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards, including ISO 45001.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification (HAZID), and job safety analyses (JSA).
  • Oversee site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and contractors to maintain high safety performance.
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Monitor safety KPIs and prepare detailed HSE reports for management.
  • Act as the focal point for client and regulatory HSE audits and inspections.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Total experience: Minimum 10 years.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer within SABIC, Aramco, SATORP, or similar petrochemical organizations.
  • Valid NEBOSH certification (mandatory).
  • ISO 45001 certification (mandatory).
  • Proven experience managing safety teams and overseeing multiple sites/projects.
  • Strong knowledge of petrochemical safety standards, PTW systems, LOTO, confined space, and hot work.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong understanding of Saudi HSE regulations and international best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in complex, multi-project environments.
  • High level of attention to detail with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
