Job Overview

Field Service Engineering work is focused on providing technical advice to customers including commissioning, installation and testing of products and equipment. The role involves identifying and correcting complex problems associated with start up, researching, evaluating and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment as assigned by the line manager.
  • Participation in PGHV projects and collaboration with project teams as required.
  • Coordinate with tools management, manage HV tools and arrange proper use of test equipment to execute site activities for HV product installation, testing, commissioning, protection and control.
  • Complete GIS Bay or GIS compartment assembly work, perform minor fabrications if required, troubleshoot and rectify HV product defects at the customer site, and advise on action plans when repair work must be carried out in Hitachi Energy factory or workshop.
  • Support PGHV service activities at the customer site and workplace.
  • Learn and operate test equipment for HV product testing, commissioning and maintenance work; learn procedures for using special tools required for HV product service وظائف.
  • Share knowledge and teach skills to fellow engineers and technicians.
  • Work with Project Management teams on various projects, complying with PM requirements and maintaining discipline as advised by PM or customer site regulations.
  • Lead contractors or subcontractors during job execution and coordinate with customer and back office support for any resource requirements to complete the job.
  • Obtain PAC or timesheets signed by the customer after task completion for invoicing purposes.
  • Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans, resource requirements, and share them with the PM, line manager or supervisor; prepare method statements as needed for contractual purposes.
  • Adhere to الشركة rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and site, and report any safety or integrity incidents to line manager, supervisor or project manager.
  • Implement Hitachi Energy values in day to day activities.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly timesheets, expense reports per الشركة guidelines in a timely manner; obtain travel authorization prior to departure for site or deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6-10 years of experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, and HV switchgear protection and control.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language is required.
