Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Transport Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified professional with 12-15 years of experience in transport planning and traffic engineering within the Middle East, bringing strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver transport planning and traffic engineering projects from concept through to execution.
• Oversee the design, analysis, and optimization of traffic systems, including signals, signage, and roadway networks.
• Conduct and review traffic impact studies, simulations, and data analysis to improve system efficiency and safety.
• Develop and implement transport strategies, traffic management plans, and policies aligned with client and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including urban planners, engineers, contractors, and government authorities.
• Ensure compliance with regional traffic regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Stay updated with advancements in smart mobility solutions (ITS) and sustainable transportation systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 12-15 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning, preferably within the Middle East.
• Proven track record in leading complex and large-scale transportation projects.
• Strong expertise in traffic modeling tools such as Aimsun, VISSIM, Synchro, or similar.
• In-depth understanding of traffic regulations, safety standards, and regional frameworks.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), smart mobility, and sustainable transport initiatives.
