Job Title: Pharmacist

Overview

Provides general healthcare advice and dispenses prescription and non-prescription medication along with non-pharma products to customers. Supervises the retail store team and operations to ensure key sales targets, customer satisfaction levels, and operational readiness are met.

Accountabilities

Store Management

• Ensure store readiness by monitoring compliance with internal readiness guidelines (e.g., staff readiness - uniforms, name tags; store readiness - temperature, storage conditions) to ensure effective daily operations and a professional store appearance.
• Perform duties in alignment with store-level Standard Operating Procedures, taking appropriate actions (e.g., loyalty program registration) to ensure individual performance meets standards.

Operations

• Process prescriptions and dispense medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, providing consultation on dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions to ensure customers are informed and educated.
• Educate customers on proper handling of medical equipment (e.g., glucose meters) designed for home use by providing information and reference sources (e.g., user manuals) for safe use.
• Supervise and develop retail store staff through performance management activities (tracking productivity and KPIs), corrective actions, regular development conversations, and access to formal and informal development options to maximize performance.
• Monitor key sales performance targets and customer satisfaction levels at a store level through direct observation and regular reporting to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals.
• Process payments and reconciliations by handling the cash register and coordinating with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial processes.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities by consulting with customers, understanding needs, and proposing appropriate products to maximize satisfaction and achieve targets.
• Perform and monitor operational and staff-related administrative tasks, including workflow, team scheduling and attendance, order entries, stock logistics, inventory management, expense recording, price updates, and promotion execution to ensure compliance with Operational Excellence guidelines.

Health & Safety

• Ensure store-level compliance with Health & Safety policy and procedures and any other required standards through regular monitoring and updates to meet local legal requirements and internal policies.
• Dispense and provide advice on over-the-counter medications to treat common illnesses by assessing symptoms and recommending appropriate actions and dosage where applicable.

Pharmacological Knowledge

• Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, networking, and participating in professional societies to stay up to date with industry information.

Education

• BSc in Pharmacy (Required by law)
