The Government of Nunavut's Tuglirijavut Student Employment Program offers year round employment and training opportunities to eligible students. The program is designed to assist students-both Inuit and non Inuit-as they develop public service skills and explore potential career paths.

Eligibility for Tuglirijavut Students
  • Completed grade 10 or 11 and are enrolled in a full time high school program for the following term/semester; or,
  • Graduated from high school in the previous semester; or,
  • Enrolled or accepted in a post secondary program at a recognized Canadian college, university, or institute for the previous or following term/semester; or,
  • Completed or graduated from a post secondary program in the current academic year.
Eligibility for Non Inuit Students
  • Currently reside in Nunavut or have previously resided there before becoming a full time high school or post secondary student at a recognised Canadian educational institution outside Nunavut; and,
  • Hold a valid Nunavut health care card; and,
  • Are not eligible for financial assistance from another province or territory.
Language and Cultural Requirements

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of these languages. Fluency in more than one official language is considered an asset or a requirement depending on the المنصب. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross cultural environment are considered assets.

  • The Government of Nunavut is committed to creating a representative workforce; priority will be given to Nunavut Inuit students who self identify as being enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement in accordance with the Priority Hiring Policy.
  • Some المنصبs may require a criminal record check. Possession of a criminal record may not disqualify students from being considered; an assessment of the criminal record will be measured against the scope and duties of the المنصب. This is a requirement only for المنصبs that need a satisfactory criminal record check.
  • Applicants with foreign post secondary education credentials must have those credentials assessed through a recognised Canadian education institution. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of their application.
