Street Lighting Network Engineer Specialist

Job Summary:

The Street Lighting Network Engineer Specialist will play a crucial role in our consultancy services project focused on the preparation and evaluation of performance-based contracts for the maintenance and operation of municipal assets, including roads and facilities, in urban areas. The specialist will be responsible for analyzing existing street lighting systems, developing technical specifications for performance-based maintenance contracts, and preparing comprehensive master maintenance work plans aimed at optimizing the performance and reliability of urban lighting networks. Collaboration with project managers, engineering teams, and municipal stakeholders will be essential to ensure project objectives are met. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in lighting network projects, a strong understanding of regulatory standards, and a commitment to improving urban infrastructure through innovative and sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate existing street lighting systems within urban areas as part of the performance-based contract framework.
• Develop and provide technical specifications for street lighting maintenance and operations under performance-based contracts.
• Participate in the design and preparation of master maintenance work plans for street lighting alongside other municipal assets.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, and municipal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Conduct site assessments to gather data and inform recommendations for upgrades, maintenance, and new installations.
• Monitor and assess the performance of street lighting systems; propose improvements or modifications as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local and national regulations, as well as industry standards for street lighting systems.
• Prepare detailed project documentation, including technical reports, evaluation metrics, and maintenance plans.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project staff on street lighting best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in lighting network projects, with a focus on urban areas and exclusive roads.
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of performance-based contracting in the context of municipal asset management and maintenance.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other technical design tools relevant to street lighting.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• A proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving and project evaluation.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards for urban street lighting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience with smart city initiatives and IoT technologies as they relate to urban infrastructure.
• Masters degree in a relevant field is a plus.
