Title: Refrigeration Plant Operator

Description: Key Outputs: List the main results which the job must deliver in order to achieve its purpose. Operate and monitor ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and pressure vessels. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment, valves, piping, and control systems. Conduct oil changes, purging, and system adjustments as necessary. Ensure proper ventilation, negative pressure, and leak control measures within the refrigeration plant. Carry out ammonia leak detection, emergency response, and ventilation system checks. Diagnose system malfunctions and implement corrective actions promptly. Replace outdated or leaking ammonia valves to ensure system integrity. Maintain accurate logs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and technical documentation. Adjust chemical dosages to maintain appropriate water quality levels. Adhere to hygiene standards, and comply with hygiene and hot work permits where applicable. Suggest process improvements to reduce downtime and enhance system reliability. Properly dispose of scrap materials by segregating them and transferring to scrap bunkers. Respond promptly to alarms or abnormal conditions to prevent equipment damage or production disruptions. Maintain equipment according to condition monitoring recommendations. Follow up on routine maintenance activities and work orders. Report system performance and issues to the maintenance manager or engineering team. Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of personal tools and the work environment in compliance with safety and environmental standards. Prepare work orders as required and ensure completion and timely closure. Monitor and record operational parameters of equipment. Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual safety checks on relevant equipment. Troubleshoot and restore equipment operation promptly in case of failure. Update equipment efficiency and spare parts inventory in the technical store. Execute shutdown activities as per the planned schedule. Implement process descriptions and activities in line with IFFCOs objectives and principles, and actively contribute to KPI review and improvement.
