Geology and Drilling Superintendent

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in the Journey to Zero program.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior geologists to meet performance and delivery expectations.
• Design drilling programs for resource replacement and infill in accordance with site strategy.
• Select and prioritize drill targets and coordinate mine efforts.
• Deliver 24 months of proven reserves confidence incorporated in the grade control model.
• Ensure the 24-month drilling schedule is integrated into the mine plan.
• Produce understandable and updated geological models.
• Conduct conceptual geological studies to discover new resources.
• Work with planning on medium-term geological requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date geological plans and communicate them to the mining team.
• Manage geology mining activities to maximize profitability and sustainability.
• Mentor team members to develop their skills and knowledge.
• Supervise the progress of the mine geology team and ensure best practices.
• Ensure QAQC from sampling to assays is within industry standards.
• Review and update all drilling SOPs and ensure their application by the drilling team.
• Supervise drilling contractors and their contracts.
• Develop and maintain a server data management system.
• Interact positively with the mining team and other staff.
• Reinforce regular underground inspections and improve underground mapping.
• Maintain communication with the reconciliation section.
• Supervise drilling costs in collaboration with the MRM manager.
• Provide input for internal QA/QC and efficient turnaround for the lab function.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or above qualifications

Experience and Skills Requirements:

• At least 5 years of practical experience in underground mining and hands-on application of grade control practices
• Practical underground mining experience
• Strong communication, leadership, planning, and organizational skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Strong knowledge of geological modeling packages, specifically Leapfrog and Vulcan
• Experience in overseeing geology staff in their respective duties, developing, mentoring, and training.
