1. JOB DETAILS:

Position Title: Senior Specialist Maintenance

Broad Band: M10: Professional

2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Inspect, test, repair, and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine, ad-hoc, emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity, and sustainable and safe operation.

3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualification:

1. Diploma in Instrument Technical School or Equivalent.

2. Maths and Science is desirable

3. Trade test + 2 Years experience as Senior Technician (subject to personal performance)

12 Years relevant experience

  • Correct and safe use of a variety of discipline specific tools or equipment (manual and power tools) to test, analyse, repair and modify plant equipment/machinery/fixtures
  • Perform and oversee routine service requirements

  • Execute and oversee repairs/modifications: dismantle, fix and reassemble of machines/equipment
  • Examine (own and colleagues) workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements
  • Perform ad-hoc and/or emergency maintenance (including shutdowns)
  • Execute and oversee discipline specific artisan work during projects
  • Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures
  • Prepare and maintain records, detailing tests, repairs and/or maintenance
  • Consult manuals, schematics, flow diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning
  • Independently analyse test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications
