Business Need / Purpose of Role
The Senior Finance Executive reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager based out of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, shall primarily be responsible for providing accurate and efficient accounting services to operations department, including payables, receivables, overheads expenses, assistance in compiling yearly budget preparation for the department and inter-company reconciliation and settlement. The position shall involve ensuring consistently adherence to corporate policies and procedures of the accounting activities. The incumbent shall provide support to all Streams and mainly handle Liner agency and Marine services.
Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities
- Accounting: The job holder is to ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts, follow ethics, procedures, and controls as per accounting standards in order to facilitate a smooth running of financial activities.
- Finance: The job holder is required to manage and use financials resources very effectively to the best interest of the organization using skills and knowledge to ensure controls and optimum use of working Capital Management. Assist in ensuring to improve cash position by reducing Invoice TAT and timely debt collections.
- Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable / Overheads: Handling and supervising, timely and accurately recording of transactions- Vendor Invoices, Customer Invoices, and cost Invoices, whether directly or through system interfacing. Review flow of transactions in accounting system to ensure correctness. Also, ensure timely and accurately payment to vendors and debt collection as per KPI’s/ process.
- Audits and VAT: The Jobholder has to handle and perform tasks for smooth conduct of Internal, statutory audits related to accounts and finance. Responsible for all pre & post preparations of audit activities to ensure smooth functioning of the organization processes and maintaining healthy financial status of the company. The jobholder should have basic understanding of VAT, its compliance, timely payment and filing with authorities, etc.
- Management reporting: Assist in accurate closing books of accounts, preparation and ensuring timely submission of daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and annual reports to the local, regional & group management. Responsible for support and assisting local management for various information and reports required for smooth conduct of business.
- Team collaboration: Should efficiently, liaise, co-ordinate within finance team, ensure leave coverage and support and assist Finance Manager and work closely with operations, external parties, all govt personnel and external auditors for smooth conduct of activities. Assist Finance Manager in budgets/forecasts, financial review of department performance and other business analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Being able to communicate verbally/writing in a clear and concise manner.
- Balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline-oriented environment.
- Good interpersonal relationship in managing people/sub-ordinates, planning, organizing.
- Excellent attention to minute details.
- Self-driven, organized, good communication skills.
- Strong planning and coordination skills.
- Having a global perspective and possess a progressive thinking skill.
Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses
- A relevant academic degree would be appreciated.
- 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role would be desirable.
- Shipping and Logistics background shall be appropriate for this role.
- Ability to read and write Arabic would be an added advantage.
- Ethical and strict adherence to compliance.
