Urban Planning Director

Job Description:

Parsons is now seeking an Urban Planning Director for one of its prestigious projects in Riyadh!
In this role you will provide management and direction for one Engineering discipline or a major section within one of the larger disciplines. You will attain xperience working on multiple portfolios of housing and development projects as part of a PMO organization , leading and mentoring subordinates and presenting to and supporting government entity managers

What youll be doing:

• Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project. Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.

• If assigned to a major program, manages all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program. Coordinates all discipline staffing requirements for the program.

• Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied. Works closely with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.

• Establishes standards and procedures manuals for the discipline. Recommends improvements to department procedures.

• Ensures performance within overhead budgets authorized for the discipline.

• Actively participates in and promotes the Quality Improvement Program. May head a committee within the discipline, striving to motivate and educate the assigned personnel.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What required skills youll bring:

• Bachelor / Master of urban planning from a credited university.

• Minimum 20 years’ experience in related field on national / international major initiatives and developments. A record of close engagement with utility providers and wider commercial and public sector stakeholders.

• Expert in major development master planning and urban planning – preferably at national levels. Thorough knowledge of urban and infrastructure planning disciplines. Knowledge of other disciplines related to planning activities and projects with an understanding of the required business interfaces and interdependencies.

• Extensive experience of working internationally (preference for Middle East / KSA).

• Proficiency in both Arabic & English is MUST
