Machine Operator

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate mechanical or computer-operated machinery.

Setting up machines to start production as per nesting/cutting sheets.

Controlling and adjusting machine settings.

Feeding/loading raw material or parts to semi or automated machines.

Inspect raw materials before and after cutting visually and with precision measuring tools when needed.

Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws, correct quantity, and dimensions.

Records all details needed of all the raw materials that’s been completed in the nesting/cutting sheets.

Perform daily and routine maintenance checks.

Always maintain the machines in good condition.

Assist in maintenance and repair of machinery.

Clean workplace and safe handling of materials.

Maintain safety regulations and obey company safety rules.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Function/ Purpose:

Skills and Experience Required:

Solid blueprint interpretation skills and well versed with engineering drawings of mast and substructure, mud systems, pressure vessels, piping, process & structural.

Shall have sound technical knowledge in materials, fabrication processes, and general construction activities.

Must have basic knowledge of English speaking and writing.

Having sound knowledge of fabrication processes and principles (Welding, cutting, pressing, gas/plasma cutting works, fit up work etc.).

Can assess and clean machinery, ensure proper operation, conduct tests on performance and capacity, calibrate the machinery, and fix basic equipment issues or malfunctions.

Can mentor and teach colleagues with less experience.

Expertise knowledge in measuring tools required.

Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments.

Qualification, knowledge, and experience:

10 years’ experience in fabrication of heavy structures and equipment.

Fabrication experience in Oil & Gas Industry. Rig building experience is required.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in machine operation (Plasma, Voortman, Bandsaw, Drill, Bending, Rolling Machines).

Technical/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering is preferred.

Computer literate.

Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups in a team environment.
