Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:
- Check and report the safe working condition of the Excavator and fill check list accordingly each shift.
- Fill diesel, top-up engine/hydraulic oil into the Equipment if required.
- Clean Air Filter, Radiator & Engine by blowing compressed Air prior to start operating the Equipment.
- Reporting the Equipment problems to the shift Inspector or Foreman.
- Unloading & Loading of scrap trucks in accordance with the shift Inspector / Foreman instructions.
- Back shifting, Stacking and Piling up of the scrap after offloading at the designated storage locations.
- Segregation of oversize, non-Metallics, close containers and gas/hydraulic cylinders from scrap.
- Magnetic separation of scrap from the leftover sand contaminated scrap using Magnet Excavator.
- Screening of sand contaminated scrap by gently dropping sand-mixed scrap over Screen.
- Not to lift pay-load exceeding SWL (Safe Working Load) of the Equipment.
- Able to operate other scrap handling Equipment being Multi-skilled if asked by Foreman.
- Coordinate with Automobile workshop in getting the repair job / periodic maintenance done swiftly.
- Responsible for safety of the Equipment and Housekeeping of scrap yard area.
- Assists in Equipment Washing/Cleaning
- Do other jobs as required
Other Responsibilities:
- To understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.
- To follow safety instructions related to their jobs.
- To report damaged PPE, unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.
- To keep the provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.
- To avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.
- To report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to concerned responsible.
- To attend safety trainings planned for them.
- Having a right to say "NO" to any unsafe work.
